      of White Birch Estates, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital, Harrisonburg, Va.

      Memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Chapel of White Birch Estates. Another memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Myers Park Baptist Church, Charlotte, where she was a member. Burial will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Maness family cemetery, Biscoe.

      She was a native of Montgomery County, the widow of Richard Turner Elmore Sr., a former instructor for the Singer Sewing Co. store in Richmond, Va., and a kindergarten teacher and hostess at her church. She attended Elon College.

      Surviving are daughter, Mary Leach Elmore of Alexandria, Va.; son, Richard T. Elmore Jr. of Melbourne, Fla.; one granddaughter.

      Theis Funeral Home, New Market, Va., is in charge of arrangements.
