Heber Hord was the first child born to Thomas Benton Hord and his wife, Sarah Marilla Hill Hord.
There was a sister, Edna born on February 6, 1880. The family lived in Cheyenne, Wyoming until the hard winter of 1885-6 after which they relocated to Central City, Merrick Co., Nebraska where "Bent" continued building the
foundation of a very large cattle, land, hay and grain business organization.
Heber married Effie Barge on April 12, 1899. To this union were born a daughter, Lucile Hord in 1903 and a son, Thomas Barge Hord in 1905.
Heber died of a heart attack in October of 1949.
