Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the home of Mrs. J. A. Hubbard, for E. P. Peterson, 59 years old, who died at the Campbellsville Hospital Wednesday morning after an illness of several weeks. Rev. O. J. Polley, pastor of the First Methodist Church will conduct the services and burial will be in the Brookside Cemetery. He was a native of Taylor County and was born here on April 13, 1880, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George W. Peterson. He was identified with many civic enterprises and for many years had been active in Taylor County politics and served as campaign chairman for several Democratic campaigns. He served for two terms as County School Superintendent and was an extensive landowner and one of this section's most progressive farmers. Mr. Peterson was twice married: first to Miss Lillian Buchanan in 1898, who preceded him in death many years ago; and secondly to Miss Aubrey Hord in 1918. Besides his widow, he is survived by two sisters: Mrs. J. A. Hubbard and Mrs. R. B. Wood, both of Campbellsville; and one brother, General V. Lee Peterson, of Washington, D. C. He had been confined to the St. Joseph's Hospital for several weeks and was Monday night brought to the Campbellsville Hospital. While his condition was critical, his death came suddenly and was a shock to his many friends and acquaintances throughout Taylor and adjoining counties.
