I received Andrews family information from the web site titles "Lineage of the North Carolina Abee" There email is steel@trellis.net.
Andrew was the first member of the Abee family to settle in North Carolina. In 1778, he purchased 315 acres of land in Shenandoah County, Virginia. He sold these lands in 1787. That deed listed his occupation as being a millwright. In the records of the settlement oh his father's estate in Lancaster County, Pa. in 1796, he is shown as being a resident of Shenandoah County, Virginia. The court trcords of Burke County, North Carolina if July 1806 are the first mention of Andrew in North Carolina. They state that Andrew Abey had the responsibility for the road "from the best way from Morganton down the Laurel Creek and Andrew Abey's past James Garrison's place."
