"Mr. Ephraim Abee, and aged citizen of this place, died October 27th and was buried at the Huffman burying ground, near Connelly Springs on the 28th."

"Died, at his home near Penelope, on the 26th, of cancer, Mr. Ephraim Abee, aged 72 years. The deceased was buried on the 28th in the Huffman burying ground near Connelly Springs. Mr. Abee is the father of Mr. J. E. Abee and father-in-law of Mrs. Wm. Abee of this city. He was a good, peaceable and industrious citizen and leaves many friends to mourn his death."
