- EBY, Ivan Gingrich - Passed away, peacefully, on Saturday, September 10, 2005 in his 83rd year with his family by his side at Heritage House, St Jacobs. He was formerly of Fairview Mennonite Home, Cambridge and St. Jacobs. Beloved husband of Irene (Weber) of Cambridge. Dear father of Duane and his wife Gloria of Conestogo and Evelyn Sauder and her husband David Groleau of Espanola. Grandfather of Sarah and Ben Eby, Wendy and Judy Sauder, and Sarah Groleau. Survived by stepsister Luella (Hoffman) Snider; sister-in-law Agnes Eby and brother-in law Nelson Weber and his wife Anna Shantz. Predeceased by parents Menno and Melinda (Gingrich) Eby and step-mother Angeline (Martin Hoffman); sisters, Barbara Weber, Almeda Martin, Lovina Weber and Rebecca Gingerich; brother Milton; brothers- in-law, Howard Weber, Orville Martin, Alvin Gingerich; step-brother-in-law Bretton Snider and son-in-law Gerald Sauder. Visitation will be at Fairview Mennonite Home, Cambridge today (Monday), September 12 from 2-4 p.m. and at Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, on Tuesday, September 13 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Jacobs Mennonite Church, on Wednesday, September 14 at 11 a.m. with pastors Mark Diller Harder and Barb Smith-Morrison officiating, followed by interment in St. Jacobs Mennonite Cemetery. Memorial donations to Mennonite Central Committee or Fairview Mennonite Home would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. The family wishes to thank the Heritage House staff for the excellent and compassionate care Ivan received during his ten-month stay there.
